Running for a good cause: our blu BEYOND team at B2Run 2026 in Munich
Code. Run. Repeat.
Under the motto "Code. Run. Repeat.", we showed up at Munich's B2Run yesterday. Let's be honest though: most of our colleagues went with the "Code" part and stayed home. On the "Run" side, we scraped together a team of 6, two of them borrowed from family & friends, because two of our actual runners were injured.
The whole idea came from our colleague Jonathan Jaschke, our resident ambitious runner, who had some convincing to do first.
Somewhere between pace and purpose
A couple of us showed up fully geared up, tracking watch on, pace goals in their heads. The rest of us were there for a different reason: the cause. We ran as charity starters, and part of our entry fee went straight to Menschen für Menschen, the official charity partner of the B2Run.
We've been working with Menschen für Menschen for years. One of our joint projects: WaterWatch, IoT sensors in Ethiopia that track water quality and availability in real time. Read more here.
We did it
We sweated. A lot. Cotton shirts: not recommended. 0/10. 🥵
But just like in our projects, waiting for perfect conditions gets you nowhere. Sometimes you just have to run with what you've got, cotton shirt and all. And we crossed that finish line. The alcohol-free ERDINGER afterward tasted twice as good for it.
